Payment Processing
All payments for moat.ch are processed by a third-party payment provider acting as our Merchant of Record. This means our payment provider handles billing, payment processing, sales tax, and refunds on our behalf. When you subscribe to moat.ch, your purchase is made through this payment provider, and their name may appear on your bank or card statement.
Free Trial
moat.ch offers a 7-day free trial with full access to all features. Your payment details are collected at signup, but you will not be charged during the trial period. If you cancel before the trial ends, you will not be charged at all.
Subscription Cancellation
You may cancel your subscription at any time from your account settings. Upon cancellation, you will retain access to the Service until the end of your current billing period. No partial refunds are issued for unused time within a billing period.
Refund Requests
If you believe you have been charged in error or there are extenuating circumstances, you can request a refund in one of the following ways:
- Via our payment provider: Use the "View receipt" or "Manage subscription" link in your transaction confirmation email to request a refund directly.
- Via moat.ch: Contact us at support@moat.ch and we will process your refund request.
Refunds may be granted in situations including but not limited to:
- You were charged after cancelling your subscription during the trial period
- A technical issue prevented you from cancelling before a renewal
- Duplicate or erroneous charges
How Refunds Are Processed
Approved refunds are processed by our payment provider and returned to the original payment method. Processing times depend on the payment method used:
- Credit or debit card: 3–5 business days
- PayPal: within 48 hours
Please note that card refunds can only be issued on transactions less than 120 days old, and PayPal refunds on transactions less than 179 days old.
